About

Ivonne Alexandra Vélez Cordero

I am Ivonne Alexandra Vélez Cordero, a Dominican-American national, and I have dedicated my professional life to the fields of psychology and education. I currently reside in the eastern part of the Dominican Republic, where I have enriched my training in several countries, including the Dominican Republic, Spain, Chile, Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I hold a Master's in Crisis and Trauma Interventions, a specialization in Systemic Trauma Therapy, and I am a certified EMDR therapist. Additionally, I have training in Internal Family Systems Therapy and a degree in Communications. I am currently in the process of certification as a Practitioner in Compassionate Inquiry under the guidance of Dr. Gabor Maté and Sat Dharam.

My extensive experience includes accompanying patients with complex traumas for around 15 years, both in hospitals and in my private practice, as well as participating in numerous community projects. I offer online sessions for people worldwide, providing a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space.

Before fully dedicating myself to psychology, I had a distinguished career in education. I was a Kindergarten Teacher at a private school with a foundation in English training, and then I developed a successful early education project, Early Horizons School. In this initiative, I supported nearly 60 children aged 1 to 7, creating a comprehensive and enriching educational environment.

With a diverse background and a deep commitment to both psychology and education, I am dedicated to providing psychological support and personalized guidance to my patients and clients, promoting their recovery from trauma, helping them move from disconnection to connection with their authentic selves, and enhancing their well-being and overall development.
